Certified Structural Integrator (Rolfing)
Certified yoga and Pilates teacher
Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist
License PT 20787
Liz is a licensed Physical Therapist and the founder/owner of Holistic Physical Therapy and Wellness. Early in her career as a Physical Therapist, she realized that true healing could only be achieved with a holistic approach that treats the whole person in mind, body, and spirit, not as a body part. It's how PT should be. For more than 25 years, this desire led her to study and apply the therapeutic benefits of Iyengar yoga and Pilates to her Physical Therapy practice. She was in the first graduating class of the nationally recognized Yoga Alliance yoga teacher training program trained by Senior Iyengar Yoga teacher Karen O'Bannon. Liz received her rehabilitation-based Pilates teacher certification through the Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute.
From that time forward, Liz has passionately pursued additional knowledge in holistic healing modalities. She is a certified Structural Integrator, working in the Rolfing method, and a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist. She will address your postural and muscular imbalances with specialized bodywork and neurologically integrate your newfound structural balance with therapeutic yoga and Pilates. It is often the case that chronic pain is the result of poor posture, body mechanics, and work ergonomics. You will discover what you can do to find ease in your body with mindfulness training to improve your posture, walking, and functional, everyday movement patterns to turn the activities that hurt you into the activities that heal you.
Liz Montagna specializes in treating chronic pain and fatigue, fibromyalgia, and trauma recovery. Her profound understanding of chronic pain is founded on the latest Pain Science research and treatment modalities. To complete your holistic journey, Liz will help you recognize the biopsychosocial factors and harmful thought patterns that feed into your pain and how to help you release them. You will learn relaxation, breathing, and meditation techniques to bring your nervous system into a state of balance and your mind to ease.
Liz lives in San Clemente and is married with two kids in college. Her goal is to balance work with family and fun.
